The Challenge: A nonprofit statewide legal services support center, whose mission is to represent disadvantaged people and to advocate for reform, retained Lisa DonFrancesco to provide advisory services on their lease renewal. Her work involved providing competitive office space market information to the Organization, including economic terms, lease terms and market conditions, in order for the Organization to negotiate and achieve the most favorable long term lease renewal on the space they currently occupied.
The Solution: Lisa DonFrancesco undertook the assignment and conducted a thorough research of recent office space transactions that had been completed in nearby buildings of similar class and size. Lisa then met several times with the Organization's senior management team and its legal counsel and discussed key market criteria for use in negotiations. The Organization was able to create maximum leverage and achieve full advantage in its negotiations with the building’s landlord. | |
